Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital’s (OLBH) Sleep Lab is hosting a support group for individuals with sleep apnea.

The free A.W.A.K.E (awake, well and keeping energetic) event takes place Friday, Dec. 4 from noon to 2 p.m. at Bellefonte Centre (1000 Ashland Drive, 5th Floor Conference Room.)

The event is for individuals who have been diagnosed with sleep apnea and their families.

Kristi Martin, respiratory therapist with a specialization in home medical equipment, will be the featured speaker.

Her presentation will focus on the usage and maintenance of equipment utilized by sleep apnea patients. Lunch will be provided by We Care Medical Equipment Co. and a special Christmas gift will be given to attendees.

The group is designed as a support for persons who have been diagnosed with sleep apnea and use durable medical equipment at home for the disorder.

The OLBH Sleep Lab conducts both adult and pediatric sleep studies and has a total of six registered polysomnogram technologists and a board-certified physician in sleep to assist in diagnosing disorders of any all varieties.
